Your work includes
You will work in a multidisciplinary data science product team developing security planning software catered to the unique environment of Schiphol. We expect you to take the team in tow and together take responsibility for the implementation, testing, and maintenance of these solutions on our Databricks and Kubernetes backed Data & AI platform. Additionally, you’ll be in close contact with other Machine Learning Engineers in different teams to learn from each other and productionize in a similar way. Your work includes:

  • Translate technical needs of the AI team into structural solutions;
  • Breakdown high-level requirements into prioritized actionable tasks;
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers on the product roadmap;
  • Support and improve our software development lifecycle and best practices;
  • Design, implement, and test cloud based (Azure, Databricks) data intensive applications;
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to provide optimal technical solutions.

About the team
The Security Insights team is a group of dedicated professionals committed to developing cutting-edge data products that provide critical security insights. The team thrives on collaboration, creativity, and a shared passion for enhancing security through data-driven solutions. They work at the intersection of technology and security, leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning to deliver actionable intelligence.

Role within the teams
As ML Engineer you’ll be taking a steering role in productionizing the solutions developed in your product team. Next to that you’ll be part of the AI Capability team consisting of 35 engineers and scientists. 80% of the work is done in your product (product) team, and 20% of your time you’ll contribute to & learn from the AI Capability team who create solutions in other parts of our organization.

Tooling and environment
In terms of tooling we work on Azure. Some examples of components in our stack include Databricks (PySpark), Python, Airflow, and OpenShift. For this role the focus is on Python & Databricks.

Eisen

  • A Bachelors and/or a Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.).
  • At least 3 years experience working with machine learning solutions including deployment and management in a production environment.
  • At least 2 years experience with Databricks and (Py)Spark, building data & AI solutions.
  • Experience with containerized application deployment technology, e.g. Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker and Helm.
  • Experience with declarative infra-as-code.
  • Experience creating monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • You have worked in an agile environment.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • For the safety of our passengers and colleagues, an AIVD security screening (VGB B civil aviation) is always part of the recruitment process.
  • For this assignment within Schiphol, a VOG is a requirement. The start date will only be discussed after receiving the VOG.
  • The candidate must have proof of identity (passport or identity card), which is valid at intake and on the starting date of the candidate’s contract and can be presented for verification.

Wensen

  • Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles and Terraform is a plus.
  • Experience with Splunk is a plus.
  • Dutch language skills are a pré.
