About the Project
Schiphol is transforming its core operational systems by replacing the current Flight Information System with a new, cutting-edge Airport Operational Database (AODB). This system will enhance real-time data sharing and operational efficiency across the airport, benefiting airlines, ground handlers, and other stakeholders.
Your Role
– Maintain and support Schiphol’s current event-based Flight Information Systems
– Refactor and modernize applications for better maintainability and performance
– Collaborate with external teams on the AODB implementation
– Help plan and execute the transition to the new AODB
– Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot across both legacy and new systems
– Participate in code reviews and evaluate technical solutions
– Share responsibility for 24/7 production support with your team

Eisen
- 8–10 years of experience as a Java Developer
- Strong Back-End expertise with technologies like Spring, AMQ, Docker, CI/CD
- Experience with Relational Databases (MS SQL preferred)
- Solid understanding or hands-on experience with Front-End development (Angular, React)
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
- Ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in DevOps teams and agile environments
- For this assignment within Schiphol, a VOG (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag) is a requirement.
